{"id":97,"date":"2023-05-13T21:07:27","date_gmt":"2023-05-13T21:07:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/manichaean.org\/en\/?page_id=97"},"modified":"2023-05-13T21:07:27","modified_gmt":"2023-05-13T21:07:27","slug":"the-people-of-rest","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/manichaean.org\/en\/prayers\/the-people-of-rest\/","title":{"rendered":"The People of Rest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Based on the Gospel of the Prophet Mani, traditionally recited each Sabbath (Friday evening or on Saturday) along other traditional prayers.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>We Maninaye (Manichaeans), are the People of Rest<br \/>\nIn the House of Alaha currently residing in the Earth;<br \/>\nNo man shall burden us with mundane labour.<br \/>\nThe one in whom we seek, Isa (Jesus), is our Great Model in all things.<br \/>\nLet us take our rest in him, forever.<\/p>\n<p>May all those who are wise receive the Life Giving Medicine of the Word<br \/>\nAnd may each of them receive full restoration by the Wheel of the Word.<br \/>\nAnd may the kind-hearted ones have joy and happiness in the Truth.<\/p>\n<p>The Messengers of the Light, they who are glorious and kind-hearted,<br \/>\nMay each one stand by this True Religion, which is the Religion of Light.<br \/>\nAnd may each of them guard, keep and preserve the Manichaean Faith<br \/>\nIn its purity throughout all their days.<\/p>\n<p>May each of them use the Shield of Light<br \/>\nAnd the Buckler of the Faithful,<br \/>\nAnd the Efficient Spear to remove and keep at great distance<br \/>\nAll enemies of Righteousness.<br \/>\nMay each of them preserve us in the Religion of Light,<br \/>\nWith their Divine Weapons, keeping us secure and joyful in the Truth.<\/p>\n<p>Ameen.
