Welcome to our official website, dedicated to the Manichaean Faith and its followers in Iran and throughout the world. Our purpose is to serve the faithful, share the sacred teachings of the Blessed Prophet Mar Mani, and provide spiritual guidance to all who seek the Truth and the eternal Light of God. The principal focus of this website is the Holy Gospel of the Prophet Mani, together with other Manichaean scriptures, prayers, and teachings that guide our religious life.

Manichaeans (Aramaic: Maninaye) follow a living monotheistic religion revealed to the Holy Prophet Mar Mani in third-century Babylonia. At the heart of our Faith is the worship of One Supreme God, the Father of Greatness (Abba d’Rabbuta), who exists eternally beyond time and the material creation. We believe that the human soul has a divine origin and that its ultimate destiny is liberation from the bondage of Matter and its return to the eternal Kingdom of Light.

Manichaeans understand religious history as a continuing series of divine revelations given to different peoples throughout the world. These revelations have come through Divine Messengers sent by the Father of Greatness to communicate the Pure Teaching and awaken humanity to the knowledge of God. Although these Messengers have appeared in different ages and cultures, their teachings originate from the same Divine Source. Each has brought spiritual guidance suited to the circumstances and understanding of the people to whom they were sent.

Central to our Faith is the Third Messenger, also known in our tradition as Izgadda, who continually works to awaken souls and guide them toward the Kingdom of Light. The Third Messenger is associated with the divine work of salvation and the ultimate liberation of Light from the material universe. We await the final fulfillment of this sacred work, when the present order of creation will give way to the fulfillment of God’s divine purpose.

The Holy Gospel of Mar Mani teaches:
“During the decline of the Pure Teaching, in the days of darkness, in the days when the corruption of religion becomes a disease in the bones of the religious sects, a man of Truth and Righteousness shall appear being sent down from the Kingdom of Light into the world of Matter. It is He who shall take great concern for the Assembly according to the powers of the Great Spirit within Him and to His capacity as one inhabits a physical body.” — Gospel of Mar Mani 3:1

We believe that divine revelation is not confined to the distant past. The Blessed Prophet Mar Mani continues his sacred mission, manifesting himself to the Elect and providing divine revelation for the guidance, instruction, and strengthening of the faithful. Through this continuing spiritual ministry, the Pure Teaching remains a living source of wisdom and guidance for our religious communities.

The Holy Gospel also describes the Third Messenger:
“The Third Messenger is the King of the Border, the God Mithra from the Chariot of the Sun, the bust of the King of Light, the very Lord of all the Counsels King who is in these worlds.”— Gospel of Mar Mani 2:24

The Third Messenger has a central role in the divine plan for creation, overseeing the eventual dissolution of the present cosmic order, understood in our tradition as the Second Creation, and the establishment of the Third Creation. This sacred work is connected with the liberation of the divine Light and the ultimate triumph of the Kingdom of Light.

Manichaeism is a living Faith. Today, the Manichaean religion continues to be embraced and practiced by believers and communities in Iran, China, Japan, India, Afghanistan, Spain, the United States, and elsewhere throughout the world. Although our religious traditions have experienced periods of hardship and persecution, the teachings of Mar Mani continue to inspire those who seek to live according to the Divine Light. Our Faith is not simply a subject of historical study, but a spiritual path followed by people who worship God, observe its teachings, and seek the liberation of the soul.

The central message of the Divine Messengers remains unchanged. We are called to worship the One True God, who is beyond time and creation, cultivate virtue, overcome vice, practice compassion, live truthfully, and free ourselves from excessive worldly attachments. Through prayer, righteous conduct, spiritual knowledge, and devotion to God, we seek to purify our lives and draw nearer to the eternal Kingdom of Light.
